Paris on a Budget: 5 Places Worth Eating

My twin brother and I visited Paris and filmed food reviews for @clarkeats1. We focused on budget-friendly spots that still deliver strong flavors.

  1. Johanna’s Fish and Chips – We had the classic fish and chips. The batter was golden and crispy, and the fish inside was cooked perfectly, flaky and fresh. The fries were good but could use more seasoning. The portion size was generous, making it a solid choice if you want a hearty meal without spending too much.

  2. Chez Nico – We ordered a jambon crepe. The service was fast and efficient, which is perfect if you’re on the go. The crepe itself was well-cooked, and the ham filling was flavorful without being heavy. The price was very reasonable, making it a great option for a quick, cheap, and tasty meal in the city.

  3. Da Giuseppe – This is more of a sit-down pizza restaurant, so it’s not for takeout. We had the Margherita pizza, and the sauce stole the show. It was sweet with a hint of heat, perfectly balanced with the melted cheese and soft crust. The atmosphere makes it a nice place to enjoy a meal slowly, and the prices are still very reasonable for Paris standards.

  4. Bagel Way – This spot is fantastic if you need breakfast or a quick lunch. The service is very quick, and you can either stay or take your food to go. The bagels are fluffy and fresh, and the breakfast sandwiches are filling and flavorful. It’s a great spot if you’re moving around the city and want something affordable but satisfying.

  5. KYS Paris – A Danish ice cream restaurant where the ice cream itself is creamy and smooth. You can add as many toppings as you want, from fruits to chocolate sauces. It’s a fun and budget-friendly way to treat yourself while exploring the city.

Overall, each of these restaurants is budget-friendly and offers excellent food quality. For college students studying abroad, these spots are proof that you don’t need to spend a lot to eat well in Paris.

Zadar Food Review: Seafood and Meat Plates by the Coast

My twin brother and I visited Zadar, Croatia, and filmed food reviews for @clarkeats1.

First stop was Konoba Tovar. We ordered the sea bass. Fresh, flaky, and perfectly grilled. The seasoning was light but hit every note. We rated it 10 out of 10.

Next was Foša. We tried the fried scallops. The breading was heavy, and the flavor was bland. We rated them 4 out of 10.

Our last stop was Kornat Restaurant. We shared a meat platter with sausage, steak, and pork. Each cut was tender and cooked well. It was a strong finish to the night.

Zadar is one of the prettiest cities we’ve visited. The views by the water are worth the trip. You can find cheap local spots to eat, especially within the old town.

Poland Food Review: Pierogies and More

My twin brother and I went to Poland for our study tour and filmed food reviews for @clarkeats1.

In Gdańsk, we ate at Pierogarnia Stary Młyn. The pierogies were soft, buttery, and filled with seasoned meat. Each bite was balanced and warm. We rated them 9 out of 10.

In Warsaw, we tried baked pierogi at Stolica. The crust was crisp, and the filling stayed tender. The texture and flavor worked perfectly together. We rated them 10 out of 10.

The last stop was Café Mozaika. We ordered strawberry lemon blondies. The flavor was too sweet, and the texture was dry. We rated them 3 out of 10.

For college students studying abroad, Poland offers affordable comfort food. Stick with the pierogies. Skip the blondies.

Paris Food Review: Chipotle Hits Different Abroad

My twin brother and I went to Paris and decided to try Chipotle. We filmed it for our TikTok, @clarkeats1.

You expect it to taste the same everywhere. It didn’t. The ingredients were fresher, and the portions were balanced. The rice had better texture. The chicken had more flavor. Even the guacamole was smoother.

They don’t serve queso in Paris. They also don’t have quesadillas. The corn tastes different, sweeter and fresher. It made the bowl better overall.

We rated it 10 out of 10.

For college students studying abroad, sometimes you want a taste of home. Chipotle in Paris delivers that comfort but feels upgraded. It’s worth the visit if you need a break from baguettes and cheese.

Oktoberfest Food Review: Twin Eats at the Tents

My twin brother and I went to Oktoberfest and filmed two food reviews for our TikTok, Twin Eats.

First stop was the Hofbräuhaus tent. We tried the roasted chicken. The skin was crispy and the pepper seasoning stood out. The meat was tender but dry in parts. Good flavor, not great balance. We rated it 7 out of 10.

Next stop was the Augustiner Bräu tent. We ordered a pretzel. Warm, soft inside, crisp crust. Salt level was perfect. Simple and excellent. We rated it 9 out of 10.

Roasted chicken and pretzels are two of Munich’s most iconic foods. Both are staples at Oktoberfest. Locals eat them with beer, often sharing plates at long wooden tables. The chicken shows the Bavarian love for hearty comfort food. The pretzel reflects the city’s bakery tradition and its focus on simple ingredients done right.

If you visit Oktoberfest, get the pretzel first. Add a beer. Then try the chicken if you want a full meal.
