My twin brother and I went to Oktoberfest and filmed two food reviews for our TikTok, Twin Eats.
First stop was the Hofbräuhaus tent. We tried the roasted chicken. The skin was crispy and the pepper seasoning stood out. The meat was tender but dry in parts. Good flavor, not great balance. We rated it 7 out of 10.
Next stop was the Augustiner Bräu tent. We ordered a pretzel. Warm, soft inside, crisp crust. Salt level was perfect. Simple and excellent. We rated it 9 out of 10.
Roasted chicken and pretzels are two of Munich’s most iconic foods. Both are staples at Oktoberfest. Locals eat them with beer, often sharing plates at long wooden tables. The chicken shows the Bavarian love for hearty comfort food. The pretzel reflects the city’s bakery tradition and its focus on simple ingredients done right.
If you visit Oktoberfest, get the pretzel first. Add a beer. Then try the chicken if you want a full meal.
